Chess Lessons for Beginning Tournament Players

Neal Bellon, Chief Tournament Director of the Farmingdale Chess Club, is available for private chess lessons/coaching, specializing in beginning tournament players (unrated or rated below USCF 1400).   

  • Topics of instruction will include: Developing a solid opening repertoire, Middlegame theory, Planning and strategy, Tactics, Endgame theory, Review of your games, Tournament skills (psychology, clock management, etc.) 
  • Both child and adult students accepted
  • Hobbyists (non-tournament players) welcome
  • In-person and online lessons available
  • Rates: In-person $50/hour ($90 for 2 hours), Online $35/hour
  • Discount for Senior Citizens
